Prof. Hong LIU attended the UN/Austria Symposium on Space Science and the United Nations
UN/Austria Symposium on Space Science and the United Nations was held from 22 to 24 September 2014 in Graz, Austria. The Symposium was organized by United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. 51 Member State representatives of space agencies as well as space science experts and researchers from UN and 22 Countries participated in this Symposium.
On invitation of UNOOSA, Prof. Hong LIU delivered a presentation entitled "Bioregenerative Life Support Experiments in Chinese LUNAR PALACE 1: Results and Future Plans". Prof. Hong LIU introduced the main results from the 105-day closed human experiment of Lunar Palace 1, and plans for construction of stage II, and next experiment of longer duration and higher closure degree. The presentation produced a warm response among participants, participants from some countries expressed the hope for future international cooperation.
UN/Austria Symposium on Space Science and the United Nations discuses the future role of space science under the framework of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications, the Symposium will reflect where the field of space science is heading and what roles international cooperation and capacity building may be playing.
